Farm incomes rose by 40% in 2005

New figures indicate that farm incomes rose by more than 40% last year.

This was due to a carryover of EU payments because of a change in the subsidy system.

Without this once off boost, the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority, Teagasc, said the real income increase would have been about 10%.
