The Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Micheál Martin, has announced the creation of 300 jobs for Limerick by a financial services company.
The Chicago-based Northern Trust Corporation is to establish a fund administration operation in the city, with the support of IDA Ireland.
The company already employs 400 people in Dublin.
Minister Martin said today's announcement would considerably increase the profile of the Mid-West region as a location for financial services activities.
