At least 12 people have been killed in a series of bombings and shootings in Iraq.
In the Sadr City area of the capital Baghdad, four people died and 26 were wounded in a car bomb attack in the al-Rashaad market.
Sadr City, a Shia stronghold, has often been a target of Sunni extremists amid continuing sectarian violence.
Another six people were killed in a string of shootings in Baquba, north of the capital.
Four were killed in a shooting incident at an agricultural equipment shop in the city.
A fifth victim was gunned down by men after they stole his car just outside Baquba, while a civilian from the village of Zhagania was shot dead in a coffee shop.
In the town of Muqdadiyah, northeast of Baquba, 20 people were wounded when three mortar rounds landed in a market.
And an Iraqi soldier, responsible for protecting oil facilities, was shot dead in Balad, north of Baghdad, while in the northern city of Mosul a senior police officer was also shot and killed.
Iraqi police have also confirmed that five corpses were taken from the Tigris River near the town of Suweira, south of Baghdad.
Two of the bodies were headless, while the other three bore signs of torture and had been shot.
