The operation to evacuate Irish citizens from Lebanon is continuing.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says that about 50 Irish people are believed to be still in Beirut.

The department is making arrangements to transport them out of Lebanon tomorrow morning.

Almost 100 Irish citizens who had been evacuated from Lebanon yesterday arrived in Dublin Airport this morning.

They were ferried out of Beirut to Damascus by bus, then flown to Dublin via Dubai.
