DDC Ireland has announced the loss of 39 jobs at its production facility at Model Farm Road, Cork.

The Irish operation is a subsidiary of Data Device Corporation (DDC) in New York, a manufacturer of high-reliability hybrid integrated circuits for the aerospace sector.

The Cork plant was established in 1991 and employs 110 personnel.

Richard Buckley, General Manager of DDC Ireland Ltd said that due to a downturn in demand for the company's products, the decision had been taken to reduce the operations headcount by 25 direct operators and by 14 support personnel.
