The Health Service Executive has asked people not to visit the hospital in Tullamore, Co Offaly, unless absolutely necessary due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.
There are currently seven suspected cases of the bug in a medical ward at Midland Regional Hospital.
People are advised not to bring children to the hospital, as the virus is highly infectious and can be potentially dangerous in the very young or old.
