North Korea - Resolution calls for sanctions

North Korea has threatened to take 'stronger physical actions' after Japan presented a draft resolution to the United Nations calling for sanctions in response to Wednesday's missile tests.

The new UN Security Council draft would oblige all member states to prevent the transfer of funds, material and technology that could be used in North Korea's missile or nuclear weapons programmes.

The US Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, said the US stood behind Japan's resolution.
