Gardaí believe the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Dublin early today may have been drugs related.
The deceased has been named as James Perdue, of Belcamp Camp Avenue, Priorswood, Dublin.
He was shot a number of times as he walked from his car to an apartment block at Grattan Wood on Hole-in-the-Wall Road at 1.15am.
The Garda Commissioner, Noel Conroy, and senior garda officers have visited Coolock Garda Station to consult on the details of the investigation.
The victim had lived at the apartment block with his partner and their three-year-old daughter.
He was taken by ambulance to Beaumount Hospital where he died a short time later.
The scene of the shooting has been preserved for technical examination.
A post mortem examination will take place later.
