Talks about the agricultural element of the new national partnership agreement have adjourned at Government buildings within the last few hours.
A deal between unions, employers and the Government was reached earlier in the week but negotiations on the farming section have still to be completed.
Farmers are said to be looking for a €7.7bn package to ensure that existing supports are maintained over the next seven years.
It is believed that the Government has offered more than €5.5 bn.
