Three killed in Kandahar bombing

A suicide car bomb attack has killed three people in the Afghan city of Kandahar.

More than a dozen civilians were also wounded in the blast.

The attack, which is being attributed to the Taliban, targeted the provincial governor as he travelled with a convoy of Canadian troops, officials said.

Governor Assadullah Khalid survived the attack and no casualties were reported among the Canadian troops.

Canada has 2,300 soldiers in Kandahar province and they have been the target of several suicide attacks.
