A Fianna Fáil senator has admitted she failed to reveal more than £3,000 in political donations from Monarch Properties, the company behind a large development in south Dublin.
Anne Ormonde told the Mahon Tribunal she cannot fully explain why she signed a motion that gave Monarch Properties a higher housing density than other landowners in the same area at Cherrywood.
Ms Ormonde said she did not have bank records at the time of the Fianna Fáil internal inquiry into payments and later forgot to set the record straight.
She said she was unaware that Monarch were landowners at Cherrywood when she signed a motion in 1993 that gave their lands a density of four houses per acre while other properties were limited to one per acre.
Expenses records from Monarch executive Richard Lynn show that he met her on five different occasions from 1994 but Ms Ormonde says she has no recollection of these meetings.
