SIPTU members at Aer Lingus marched to the main terminal building at Dublin Airport at lunchtime today to mark the airline's 70th birthday as part of its anti-privatisation campaign.

The union invited all northside Fianna Fáil TDs to the march, which was followed by a rally outside the Aer Lingus headquarters building.

Marchers carried a 6ft-wide cake bearing the slogan 'let's keep it ours'.

The Government has already decided to sell off the airline later this year but the union is opposed to the plan amid concerns for job security and pensions.
