A decision is expected to be taken next month regarding the timing of the flotation of Aer Lingus.
The company's Commercial Director, Enda Corneille, said the airline wanted the privatisation to proceed as soon as possible.
The Government and the airline are awaiting further information from their advisors on the issue.
Mr Corneille was speaking at an event to mark the company’s 70th year of service.
