The Fruit of the Loom company has confirmed that production ceased at its plant in Buncrana at 11am this morning.
The cessation happened a week and a day ahead of schedule.
140 people, including management, will stay on for the next few months to dismantle the machinery and oversee its shipment to Morocco.
