A deep-sea diver who was airlifted by coastguard helicopter to hospital earlier today suffering from 'the bends' is said to be in a stable condition.
The 38-year-old Dutch woman, who was diving at Fastnet Rock off the Cork coast, has been treated at the recompression chamber at University College Hospital in Galway.
The bends is an illness which affects divers who resurface too rapidly from the sea.
