Global crude oil prices have again hit record highs, which will mean further petrol price rises.
In New York today, oil was trading at just under $72.50 a barrel, while in London Brent crude reached a record price of just over $74 a barrel.
This follows a drop in US petrol stocks and concerns that Washington's row with Iran over its nuclear programme may jeopardise supplies from there.
Iran is the world's fourth largest producer of oil.
There are expectations that the average price for a litre of unleaded petrol in Ireland will reach €1.20 by tomorrow though one garage in Drumcondra, Dublin, did increase prices to just under €1.30 per litre of unleaded.
