The trial of Saddam Hussein resumed in Baghdad this morning but was adjourned shortly afterwards.
The former Iraqi leader and seven co-defendants are charged in connection with the killing of 148 Shi'ite men and teenagers after an attempt on his life in the town of Dujail in 1982.
The trial was adjourned after defence lawyers questioned the impartiality of an expert witness on handwriting.
He was due to have given his views in evidence of signatures that might link Saddam Hussein to the killings in Dujail.
