Three people have died in the past 24 hours as a result of road collisions.
This afternoon, it was announced that a 24-year-old man who was injured in a road accident in Co Dublin last month, has died in hospital.
The man suffered injuries in a two-car collision that occurred at Corduff, Lusk, Co Dublin north of Blakescross on the Old Belfast Road at about 11pm on 27 March.
In Co Wickow, Josie Daly of Ballinagore, Mullingar Co Westmeath, aged 67, died after she was hit by a car while walking near Blainroe at around 8pm last night.
The accident occurred about 6km from Wicklow town.
A man in his 40s who was walking with her was also injured and was taken to hospital with two passengers in the car.
In a separate accident, a 20-year-old man from Clane was killed after a collision between two cars at Castledillon, near Straffan in Co Kildare.
One woman suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Naas hospital.
Two other people suffered minor injuries in the incident.
