Death of former Celtic winger Johnstone

The death has been announced of former Scotland and Glasgow Celtic winger, Jimmy Johnstone, who suffered from motor neurone disease.

Mr Johnstone, nicknamed Jinky, was 61. He died this morning at his home in Lanarkshire.

He had been an integral part of the Glasgow Celtic side that won nine consecutive Scottish League titles between 1965 and 1974. 

He was also one of the so-called Lisbon Lions, the Glasgow Celtic team that became the first British side to lift the European Cup in 1967.
