The French President, Jacques Chirac, is due to address Saudi Arabia's consultative assembly later today, becoming the first non-Arab leader to do so.
Mr Chirac is also holding another round of talks with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah.
France's hopes of securing business deals, particularly in the military sector, are expected to be high on the agenda.
