According to the latest reports, inmates at Afghanistan's main prison have agreed to hand over the bodies of three people killed and 30 wounded in a riot two days ago.
Talks to end the stalemate at the Pul-e-Charkhi prison in Kabul are continuing. The prisoners, many of whom are members of the Taliban and al-Qaeda, have issued a list of demands including better conditions.
Earlier reports suggested that at least four prisoners had been killed in the riots which broke out on Saturday and involved up to 2,000 prisoners who took over parts of the high security prison.
The rioters have also reportedly agreed to release women and children inmates.
The block was being surrounded by hundreds of Afghan security forces as well as US and NATO troops.
Deputy Justice Minister Mohammad Qasim Hashimzai said it was difficult to know the exact situation. He added however, that the situation is calmer that on Saturday.
