Ten killed in separate Baghdad attacks

Ten people have been killed and 11 others wounded in separate attacks in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

In the latest attack, four policemen were killed and four civilians wounded when a car bomb went off targeting an Iraqi police patrol in northern Baghdad. Another policeman was wounded in the blast.

Two other car bomb attacks occurred in central Baghdad. A civilian was killed and four civilians wounded in one attack near a police patrol. Four civilians and two traffic policemen were wounded in another attack targeting police commandos.

Earlier it emerged that three children were killed by a roadside bomb in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Witnesses said the two boys and a girl were on their way to school when they stopped and picked up a bag which then exploded. Five store fronts were destroyed in the blast.

The children were believed to be aged about 11.

In another incident, gunmen killed a police captain along with his driver while he was heading to work in southern Baghdad, police said.

Elsewhere in the Iraqi capital, the bodies of four people with hands bound and gunshot wounds to the head were found in the Shula district. Police said the bodies showed signs of torture.
