It has been confirmed that the governing board of the International Atomic Energy Agency will hold an emergency meeting on Iran's nuclear work on 2 February at the request of European Union powers.
France, Britain, Germany and the United States are expected to push at the meeting for Tehran to be referred to the UN Security Council.
It comes after Iran resumed research that could be used for a programme to generate electricity or make nuclear weapons.
