The new President of the Irish Farmers' Association, Padraig Walshe, has said the IFA's involvement in social partnership is conditional on farming getting a fair allocation of national resources.

47-year-old Mr Walshe was elected last month and will serve for four years.

He formally takes over the presidency of the IFA today.
