Belgian officials have said initial tests on a man taken to hospital with suspected bird flu have shown no sign of the disease.
The Belgian Health Minister, Rudy Demotte, said the man had undergone tests for the H5N1 avian flu after he checked himself into a hospital yesterday.
The man had returned from the eastern region of Turkey two days ago.
'The initial results of the tests would indicate that we are not dealing with bird flu,' Demotte told a news conference.
Three children have died in Turkey from the disease, which has infected 18 people in the country.
Meanwhile, a laboratory in Hong Kong has confirmed Indonesia's 12th human fatality from bird flu.
The WHO recognised laboratory showed the H5N1 virus had killed a 29-year-old Indonesian woman who died this week in a Jakarta hospital.
Hospital officials said the woman had been in contact with dead chickens before falling ill.
