16 patients at the Portiuncula Hospital in Co Galway are reported to be suffering from the winter vomiting bug.
According to the hospital in Ballinasloe, measures have been put in place to reduce the risk of the virus spreading to other patients.
People are being encouraged not to visit the hospital unless it is essential.
