The ESB has confirmed that its power station at Coolkeeragh in Derry is out of service due to problems with its turbine.
The problem arose on 16 December. The ESB says its engineers are working to repair the problem, and it expects Coolkeeragh to return to service by the middle of the month.
The 400-megawatt facility was only installed last March, however, a spokesman for the ESB said that it is not unusual for new power plants to experience such difficulties.
