Medical specialists at Dublin's Beaumont Hospital have described as 'revolutionary' a new screening technology for the hospital superbug, MRSA.
The programme, which is being tested at the hospital, allows screening for the infection within two hours, compared with the existing wait of three days.
Recent studies show that MRSA is widespread in hospitals here.
