At least 30 people have been killed in Yemen in an overnight landslide which hit a village on a rocky slope near the capital, Sanaa.

Rescue workers searching for survivors are reported to have recovered three people alive from the rubble.

However an interior ministry official said that 100 others are still unaccounted for.

Tens of people with injuries have been taken to hospital.

The landslide hit the small village of Al-Dhafeer, 25 miles west of Sanaa, and most of the houses there were destroyed.
