A suicide car bomber has struck a petrol station in northern Iraq killing at least five people and wounding 16.
The attack on the outskirts of Samarra, some 125km north of Baghdad, devastated the petrol station and set a dozen cars ablaze.
In other violence, three Iraqi soldiers were shot dead north of Baghdad and a US contractor and four Iraqis were wounded in a bomb blast targeting a US military convoy in the capital.
