Doctors treating the former football star George Best in a London hospital say he got out of his bed and spoke to family and friends today.
His surgeon, Professor Roger Williams, said his condition was ‘greatly improved’ but he would remain in intensive care for at least several days.
His condition deteriorated severely last week after four weeks of hospital treatment for an infection, prompting new fears for his life.
