Publication of the report by Bus Éireann on the crash which claimed the lives of five schoolgirls has been postponed after the intervention of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
It had been expected that the report on the crash near Kentstown in Co Meath would be published today.
The day after the fatal crash last May, Bus Éireann set up a board of inquiry to find out the cause of the accident. It happened on a newly-laid road as the bus was bringing children home from schools in Navan.
Copies of the report had been printed and the board was being briefed when a letter arrived from the Director of Public Prosecutions yesterday evening.
It asked that the report not be published in case it prejudiced any criminal prosecutions that may arise. The company has complied and will not now be publishing its report.
Gardaí have concluded their investigation into the accident and have sent their file to the DPP.
The Health and Safety Authority is still conducting its large-scale probe into the tragedy, and the company's performance and regulations. Its file is not expected to go to the DPP for several weeks yet.
Claire McCluskey, Deirdre Scanlon, Lisa Callan, Sinéad Ledwidge and Aimee McCabe all died in the crash.
