Ennis council will not supply water tankers

Ennis Town Council has confirmed that it will not be supplying tankers of water to help ease the inconvenience and expense caused by problems with the town's water supply.

A 'boil' notice to over 30,000 consumers in the town has been lifted, but as a precaution families with young childen and pensioners are being urged to continue to boil or buy their water.

Notices to boil the water in Ennis were first issued last June after evidence that the supply was contaminated.

Problems continued over the summer with the boil notices being reissued a number of times.
