Israeli and Palestinian leaders have postponed a summit meeting planned for tomorrow until the end of the month.
The summit, which was already postponed from 2 October, was to have been the first since Israel completed its withdrawal from Gaza and part of the West Bank last month.
A spokesman for the Palestinian Authority blamed insufficient preparations for the delay.
Overnight, Israeli soldiers shot dead three Palestinians near the border between Gaza and Israel.
The Israeli army said the three young men were spotted crawling near the border fence and ignored calls to halt before they were shot.
However, a Palestinian security official has said that an initial investigation shows the three were not armed and had intended to sneak into Israel to find work.
