120 new jobs are to be created at a biotechnology plant in Waterford.
The jobs will be at the Genzyme company's complex on the city's IDA industrial estate, where a new €125m facility was opened today.
Genzyme is one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.
It already employs 250 people in Waterford. It set up in the city four years ago with the aim of recruiting as many as 500 people on a phased basis.
The new Biologics Fill & Finish facility which opened today will manufacture a range of biological products for the global healthcare market.
