Report highlights €85m loss to small firms

A report by the Competition Authority has said that small firms are losing €85 million a year on interest rate reductions because the cuts are not being passed on fully by banks.

The authority says a lack of competition among banks also means consumers have not had better services, prices and products.

The Irish Bankers Federation said it had done a lot of work on the issue but acknowledged there was more to do.
