Aer Arann has confirmed that it will be reducing the number of Cork-Dublin flights from nine to three per day when Ryanair begins operating on that route.
From 24 November, Aer Arann will run only three return flights to the capital with the cheapest one-way fair of €29.99 excluding tax.
Ryanair plans to begin operating three return flights on the same day with equivalent fares as low as 99c.
A spokesperson for Aer Arann said the move would not affect staff numbers in Cork in the short term, as they will continue to offer flights to Birmingham, Bristol, Southampton, Edinburgh and Belfast.
