The Minister for Justice has launched a blistering attack on the main Opposition parties.

Speaking ahead of the one-day pre-Dáil think-in, Michael McDowell claimed that when Labour and Fine Gael were in Government they broke all their promises to the electorate.

Mr McDowell repeated that much of the success of the economy over the past number of years has been down to the policy of the PDs.

The minister said that his party is now beginning the task of preparing new forward thinking policies for the next general election.
