Tributes are paying paid to the Galway football legend Sean Purcell, who passed away this evening.
Mr Purcell was widely regarded as one of Gaelic Football's greatest ever centre-half forwards.
He was elected to that position on the GAA / An Post Team of the Millennium and the Team of the Century.
Mr Purcell was recently the recipient of an honorary degree at a ceremony at NUI Galway.
