The head of the government of a region in southern Russia, bordering Chechnya, has been wounded in a bomb blast.
A spokesman for the government of Ingushetia said President Ibrahim Malsagov was rushed to hospital after his car was destroyed by the blast in the town of Nazran.
Separatist instability and violence has regularly rocked many parts of Russia's North Caucasus, above all in Chechnya, where security forces are killed on an almost daily basis.
