Soaring oil prices have pushed fuel costs to another all time high.
A survey by AA Ireland says unleaded petrol is now an average of 108.5c per litre and diesel is 107.1c per litre in Ireland.
The study shows petrol prices are up 14% since January and rose an average of 3.2c this month.
The average motorist driving 12,000 miles a year has added €246 to their costs - an extra €20.55 a week.
The AA points out that 60% of the money motorists pay for fuel goes to the State in tax.
Today, oil prices remained just below their record price of $67 a barrel reached on Friday.
Experts say there is no reason to believe prices are going to fall in the short term.
