Britain warns Iran over nuclear activities

Britain has warned Iran against any unilateral move regarding its hugely controversial nuclear fuel programme that would complicate international negotiations on the issue.

The British Foreign Office was responding to a threat by Iran to go ahead from tomorrow with the resumption of limited uranium conversion at a plant where activities have been suspended since last November.

The EU and Iran have been in negotiations over an offer of economic and political incentives to Tehran in return for an indefinite suspension of uranium enrichment and nuclear fuel reprocessing.

The US believes Iran is trying to build a nuclear bomb, though Iran insists its programme is for civilian use only.
