The Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement is to seek the disqualification of nine former National Irish Bank executives.
Among the individuals is the former chief executive of the bank, Jim Lacey.
Today the Director of the ODCE, Paul Appleby, said it would be a matter for the High Court to determine if disqualification is appropriate.
The nine executives were criticised in an inspector’s report which probed a range of activities including tax evasion by the bank's customers and overcharging by National Irish Bank.
