A task force is to be set up by the British government to help combat extremism in its Muslim communities.
Senior British Muslims met the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, at Downing Street this morning and agreed to work more closely with the security services in the wake of the London bombings earlier this month.
It is part of the effort being made by Mr Blair and opposition leaders to establish how young British-born Muslims could have become suicide bombers.
The opposition Conservative and Liberal Democrat leaders, Michael Howard and Charles Kennedy, also attended today's talks, along with the British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
