The Labour Court has recommended that staff at An Post should receive payment of Sustaining Progress wage increases provided new proposals on restructuring its mail collection and delivery service are implemented.
However, back money due to workers for the delay in implementing pay rises would remain a liability for the company and must be paid when the company has returned to a state of reasonable and sustainable profit.
A spokesperson for An Post said that the recommendation would be considered by the board and management of the company.
The Communications Workers' Union is expected to seek clarification of certain issues from the Labour Court.
