At least three killed in Baquba car bombing

At least three people have been killed and one person injured in a car bomb attack in the Iraqi city of Baquba.

The bomber placed his car next to a queue of cars outside an Iraqi petrol station. He left minutes before it exploded, destroying three other cars.

Separately, the US military has said that three US soldiers were killed in two insurgent attacks in Iraq late yesterday.

Two of the soldiers died in a mortar attack on a US military base in Tikrit. Another soldier was killed in a roadside bomb blast north of the capital, Baghdad.

1,679 US soldiers have now been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion began in March 2003.
