At least 19 people have been killed and 66 injured in five suicide bombings in Iraq.
Most of the casualties were in and near the northern town of Hawija, where four bombers blew up their vehicles near security checkpoints.
One blew up his car near a US base, another beside an Iraqi army checkpoint and a third close to a market, police said. A fourth car bomb struck a checkpoint in the town of Abasi, near Hawija.
In a fifth attack, a car bomb exploded alongside a police patrol in Baghdad.
Abu Ghraib riot
In a separate incident, rioting erupted in the notorious US-run Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad overnight after a detainee tried to escape under the cover of a heavy sandstorm.
Detainees in several of the compounds began throwing rocks at portable light generators and guards.
Four guards and six detainees were injured in the disturbance and were treated at the scene.
