Talks will take place tomorrow in a bid to avert a strike at Rye Valley Foods in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan from Monday.
The Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union, which represents 30 of the company's 700 employees, has served strike notice on the firm over plans to shut the plant for five days next week.
The TEEU says management told workers to take four days' annual leave or face a week's layoff.
The union says it has acceded to an IBEC request for talks which will take place tomorrow afternoon in the Great Southern Hotel at Dublin Airport.
