The Labour Leader, Pat Rabbitte, said that the Fianna Fáil/ PD coalition Government seems to have been paralysed in terms of tackling such issues as childcare, the crisis in Accident and Emergency wards, the drugs epidemic and anti-social behaviour.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio 1’s This Week programme, Mr Rabbitte said that any alternative to the present Government needs to be prepared to tackle such issues.
He was speaking ahead of a meeting with party delegates next weekend where he will ask them to endorse his strategy of a pre-election pact with Fine Gael as an alternative to the current Fianna Fáil/PD coalition.
