The National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown in Dublin reopened to the public today.
The centre had been closed for almost six months since high winds damaged its roof in January.
A number of swimming and diving events which were due to be held there had to be cancelled.
The centre cost more than €60 million and opened just over two years ago.
Opposition politicians have criticised the lengthy closure of the centre and have demanded explanations as to why the damage could not have been repaired earlier.
